Guided Kansas Turkey Hunting
All 2011 turkey hunts are booked, please contact us if you are interested in a 2012 hunt.
The Rio Grande Turkey is the turkey breed you'll hunt on Kansas Racks and Quacks property during the spring. These turkeys start breeding in Mid-March and continue to strut well into April. The Kansas limit is 2 long beards per hunter.
The strategy for hunting this kind of bird is to pattern a gobbler, set up and call him into your decoys. Decoys and calls are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
Turkey hunts can be semi-guided, or fully guided, depending on your preference. Kansas weather is truly unpredictable at this time of year. Be prepared for a windy 32 degree day, a balmy 65 degrees, or a rainy 50 degree day. Don't forget your rain gear and bring enough to keep you warm. Hunting in the cold and rain can be a lot of fun, but not if you don't have the gear to keep you comfortable.
